‘EL MALO’……..WILLIE COLÓN
‘EL MALO’……..
WILLIE COLÓN
‘EL MALO’…….strikes again! Willie Colon’s new album is a mixture of some of his trademark songs and various trumpet and trombone solos. It’s breaks today’s music rules by not adhering to the 4min music rules (which is radio friendly). The CD is on sale on Amazon and in local music stores and also at www.williecolon.com
Willie Colon, a critic of the movie “El Cantante” feels that the movie focused too much on the tradedy of Lavoe’s life and addictions and not on his music; so Colon includes his own tribute to his friend in the CD.
A fourteen minute long tribute, “Hector Lavoe Medley” runs through the classics which he feels is fitting and right being Colon wrote the music to all these songs.
My personal opinion this album is a treat………….go for it.
